With DVD players, multiple game systems, cable TV and DVRs, it's normal to have several inputs jostling for position on one television. If this describes your setup, you may need to invest in an AV splitter. These devices allow multiple systems to be plugged into one machine, providing a switch or dashboard that allows switching between the different inputs. Run an AV cable from the red, white and yellow "Out" slots of your AV splitter to the "Aux" or "AV In" ports of your television, ensuring each plug is color-coded to the correct port. Connect the Wii's AV cable to the AV port in the back of the machine. Connect the other end of the cable to one of the "In" ports on the AV splitter. Connect the Wii sensor bar directly to the five-sided port in the rear of the console, located beside the AV port. Place the sensor bar on the top or bottom of the television screen, centered and flush with the screen edge. Turn the Wii on and set the splitter to the channel the Wii is plugged into. Most AV splitters have numbered ports so you can clearly see which channel each device is connected to. Turn on your television and tune to the channel the splitter is connected to: "AV In," "Aux" or "Video." Your Wii's video signal will be displayed and the system will be playable.
